In this DOUBLE session, discover the fundamentals of acting with professional actor and director Elizabeth Pisel-Davis, creator and director of Necessary Nonsense with the Theater Alaska Kids Company. Through fun, hands-on activities, participants will build confidence and creativity. The class will conclude with a public showing for friends and family—come join the fun and take the stage!

Have you ever dreamed of writing a song? In this exciting workshop, professional composer and musician Spencer Edgers will guide students through the fundamentals of songwriting. Through fun exercises and hands-on instruction, students will collaborate to write and perform an original group song. From crafting lyrics to composing melodies, participants will learn the step-by-step process of bringing a song to life. The workshop will culminate in a special performance at the end of the week—come create music together!

Theater Alaska is partnering with Broadway Barkada. Broadway Barkada was founded in 2009 by Liz Casasola, Brian Jose, and Billy Bustamante. What started as a small group of Filipino performers has turned into an organization comprised of nearly one hundred active members. Broadway Barkada aims to nurture and support Filipino artists who believe in the importance of cultural awareness. Through art and education Broadway Barkada aims to bring the Filipino experience to a diverse audience and to give them a deeper understanding of our culture and our artists.

Step into the world of Shakespeare in this dynamic and engaging class with professional actor and director Flordelino Lagundino! Participants will explore objectives, tactics, obstacles, and given circumstances, all while learning to approach Shakespeare’s language with confidence.
