Ḵaaláaa Miriah Twitchell is Inupiaq on her motherʼs side and from the Bourdon family in Sitŋasuaq, or Nome, and her father immigrated from Iran. She was adopted by the Daḵl’aweidí Kéet Gooshí Hít, has resided in Juneau for fourteen years, and works to support culture and language revitalization. Miriah is grateful to live and raise a family on Lingít Aani, and to be returning to performing arts.
